Recently, I met up with Lindsay and Ryan for their Ridley Creek State Park engagement session! Since Linsday and Ryan’s first date was a bike ride, we had to do a few on a cute blue bicycle! Enjoy their photos and story!
What was your first date?
Our first date might sound a bit unusual, but to me, it was like a fairytale. I met Ryan at his house with the intention of going on a bike ride. When I arrived, he invited me in for a pre-ride beer. I was skeptical at first (since he was my boss, after all). We then began our bike ride. After a few miles, we came upon a trail, so we decided to be adventurous and check it out. We ended up going on a two mile hike in which we came upon a tire swing. Ryan pushed me and it made me feel like I was in a movie. Afterwards, we finished our bike ride ending back at Ryan’s house. He invited me in and we started playing darts. By that time, we both realized that this day was way more than just a bike ride. What originally was supposed to be a simple bike ride, turned into the most amazing first date. EVER.
How did he propose?
January 19, 2017 Ryan’s family and I had planned an overnight stay in Philadelphia. We all did this the year before and had a blast, so we figured we would do it again! Unfortunately, I was very ill that weekend which almost kept me from going with, but Ryan somehow found a way to convince me to go. When we got to our hotel, his mom recommended going to a rooftop she read about to watch the sunset. We all got ready and hopped in an Uber to the Cira Green Rooftop. We all squeezed into the elevator and as we approached the top, Ryan pulled me in close. The doors opened and my family and closest friends were all there with a banner reading, “Lindsay Dawn Blank, WILL YOU MARRY ME?” I was in absolute disbelief. Ryan then led me down a candle-lit aisle with numerous photos from throughout our relationship. When we reached the end, Ryan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Without hesitation, I SAID YES!
What are your favorite things to do together?
The list could go on of things we love doing together as a couple. Some of our favorites include: being outdoors, hiking, playing with our dog, Bella, trying new restaurants, listening to live music at a local bar, traveling, cooking, and just cuddling up on the couch binge-watching TV shows.
